If you have been injured in a job-related accident, you may be entitled to workers' compensation benefits.  These benefits can include weekly payment of compensation, payment of hospital and medical bills, payment for scarring, travel, retraining, rehabilitation and other benefits.  Generally, under workers' compensation law, an employee cannot sue his employer to recover for pain and suffering.  However, if you have been injured as the result of the negligence of a third, such as the operator of an automobile, the manufacturer of a defective product or the owner of negligently maintained premises, you may be entitled to bring an action against the third party for damages, including pain and suffering.
